Fred and I have just have one thing to say about Ryan and Erica, they are AMAZING!!!! Their wedding day was filled with love and laughter and more fun than anyone should be allowed to have. Their ceremony and reception was held at the beautiful Red Barn Farm in Weston, MO. From early morning until late that night we laughed, cried and partied. What a day!!!!
First thing Saturday morning the bridal party, friends and family helped set up for a spectacular reception. The rustic details were simply beautiful and Erica’s friend Melinda did an amazing job with many of the details and keeping everyone organized. Thank you, Melinda for being so fantastic. After we finished up with as much as we could do everyone headed to the St. George Hotel in Weston to get ready. The girls had a few hours to get pampered and after lunch, the guys headed back to the barn to finish the last minute details.
As with any wedding day the time flies and before we knew it, it was time for Erica to depart for the orchard to see Ryan for their first looks. While Ryan anxiously awaited her arrival, he and Fred had some fun taking a few shots that they knew would have Erica laughing hysterically. When the time came for the first looks Ryan was blown away by Erica’s elegant beauty.
After they had a few minutes to spend together, it was time to get the ceremony started. Surrounded by family and friends on a gorgeous November afternoon Erica and Ryan became husband and wife. Theirs was a touching ceremony filled with laughter and tears. After exchanging vows they chose to light remembrance candles instead of a unity candle. A slight breeze it made lighting the candles somewhat challenging. The emotions of the day caught up with Erica and the tears started flowing. Without hesitation, their FANTASTIC bridal party stepped around the table to block the wind and with the candles lit the tears stopped and laughter took over. This was an extremely touching moment and I am so glad I was able to witness it firsthand.
As the ceremony was coming to an end a flock of black birds flew overhead and luckily no one was hit with flyover droppings. I loved the spontaneity of head covering and laughter as we joked that it would have been nice if they were doves instead of nasty black birds.
Now officially Mr. and Mrs. Oldham it was off for portraits and some fun bridal party photos followed by one fun reception. The food was delicious, the music and karaoke was awesome. The details and flowers were beautiful. The cake balls were to die for. But nothing beats Ryan’s serenade and toast to his bride. Did I mention this man CAN sing and sing he did! He kicked off one hell of a party and that’s all I am going to say about the rest of the night…..
Ryan, every time you look at your wife your face is filled with a tenderness that so many women dream of seeing in their partner’s eyes. Erica, you absolutely bring out the very best in Ryan and everyone who is blessed to have you as a friend. It is touching for all of us who know and love the two of you to see such a special love like yours. May you both be blessed with a life full of adventure, love and all the blessings you deserve.
We could not have asked for a better way to end our wedding season, than with wonderful friends who made everyone, including us, feel so honored to be a part of your day. You two are AMAZING!!!!!
